Marylebone Project
Fresh Hope

Film & Campaign Description

This is Fresh Hope, a heartwarming film brought to you by the Marylebone Project and Stories of Note, shining a light on the amazing women overcoming homelessness. Through real stories from our staff, residents, and clients, Fresh Hope introduces you to the Marylebone Project, the longest-serving women's-only homelessness service in the UK.

What do you think of when you hear the word "homelessness"?

You might imagine a man bundled up on a street corner, with a dog or a sleeping bag. But the truth is, it's much more than that. Women facing homelessness often hide away in places like night buses or 24-hour restaurants to stay safe. That's where we come in. The Marylebone Project is their sanctuary, open 24/7, 365 days a year with showers, laundry and warm meals.

But it's more than a place to rest and recharge. We offer tools, services, and support like sewing and knitting classes, digital skills training, and our Women into Work Programme which all involve one crucial thing - community. This wrap-around support helps women break the cycle of homelessness and lead independent, fulfilling lives.

"Fresh Hope" captures the spirit of these incredible women, showing their strength, vulnerability, and the joy they find even in tough times. We're here to change the narrative around homelessness. It's not a label—it's just one part of life, and with the right support, it can be overcome.

A big shoutout to our brave participants who shared their stories, and to all the amazing folks at the Marylebone Project making it happen behind the scenes.

Marylebone Project

The Marylebone Project, based in Central London, empowers women to overcome homelessness. We are the largest and longest-running centre of its kind in the UK – with over 90 years of experience, 112 residential beds, and the only women’s-only homelessness centre that’s open 24/7, 365 days a year.

We believe in providing a safe, supportive environment for women to rebuild trust, learn to re-engage with society and start to rebuild their lives with the support of our all-encompassing service. Our clients face a huge range of life-altering challenges - Domestic abuse, Human trafficking, Alcohol and drug misuse, Unemployment, Loneliness, Disability and Mental health - but whatever their story, we aim to provide a life-changing service that enables them to move on and live full, independent lives, and it works - 95% of our women maintain their tenancies for at least a year.

Our Patron is musician Ellie Goulding who has provides unwavering support to our work and makes the time in her busy schedule to spend with our inspiring ladies. The Marylebone Project is a flagship social action project of national charity Church Army.
