The film depicts the impact of hydrocephalus on the whole family and depicts the isolation and fear that often comes with the diagnosis. Hydrocephalus (known as water on the brain) is a life-threatening condition, which affects 1 in every 770 babies born each year- yet so few have heard of so connecting with others who truly understand is vital.
The film highlights the true value of people and that by building friendships with others on the same journey, life becomes less isolating and a little less frightening. The film shows the joy and beauty of life and highlights that families affect by hydrocephalus are almost always stronger together.
We are a user-led national charity which aims to make life better for children with hydrocephalus (known as water on the brain) and the families who love and care for them.
Every year in the UK around 1 in 770 babies will develop hydrocephalus, making it as common as down syndrome and the number one reason for brain surgery in children, yet few have heard of it- we need to change this!
