This film was created by Maddy Duggan, a Creative Media Production & Technology student at Alton College. Maddy was given the brief to highlight the impact of the project through supporting vulnerable people as we experience the energy and cost of living crisis.
Home & Well is a unique collaboration of organisations coming together to support vulnerable clients across Hampshire and Isle of Wight, who include - Citizens Advice Hampshire, SSEN, SGN, Southern Water, South East Water, Portsmouth Water and the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Integrated Care System.
The purpose of the project is to reduce hospital admissions and help clients who are being discharged. The project combines all the elements of helping clients with fuel/water poverty and identifying PSR (Priority Service Register) cases, whilst also providing a more holistic approach and signposting clients to services helping to tackle additional issues such as housing, employment and relationships.
This short film follows a client who had recently left hospital after an operation. During this we hear the clients worries about going home due to the energy crisis and rising cost of living. It shows how the Home & Well Adviser supports the client with any problems they may have whilst also giving practical support.

At local Citizens Advice offices throughout Hampshire, we believe no one should have to face these problems without good quality, independent advice. That’s why we’re here: to give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward – whoever they are, and whatever their problem.
We’re part of a network of independent charities that offers confidential advice online, over the phone, and in person, for free. When we say we’re for everyone, we mean it. People rely on us because we’re independent and totally impartial. We also give advice on consumer rights on our consumer helpline, support witnesses in courts through the Witness Service and give pension guidance to people aged over 50.
Citizens Advice Hampshire is a charity supporting the independent Citizens Advice charities in Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton and the Isle of Wight.
