Save the Children UK
A Celebration of Girls' Rights

Film & Campaign Description

For this year’s International Day of the Girl, Save the Children wanted to celebrate all girls, all around the world, and all their dreams & projects. This video is the result of that aspiration.

Women and girls’ empowerment is key to building a more just, peaceful and sustainable future, and Save the Children is working to promote the realisation of girls’ rights through programming and advocacy work for sustainable, systemic change.

The video was part of an event put on by Save The Children's Women's Network, which brings together women who are passionate about gender equality to connect, learn, advocate and raise funds. This money goes to the Girls' Impact Fund, which paves the way for a new approach to how we support girls, channelling specific funding and activities designed for, and with, girls.

The fund prioritises approaches that are led by girls, and which help them to become more empowered. We’ll listen to girls about their lived experiences and the challenges they face, and work with them to make sure their needs come first. As part of the initiative, we’ll ensure resources are held by girls and local organisations – supporting our efforts towards a locally-led approach and more equitable partnerships.
