FINALIST 2024

Headway Nottingham
The Art of Recovery

Film & Campaign Description

Candice was an Intensive Care Nurse when she slipped in the bath and sustained a brain injury which would change the direction of her life.  Featuring and narrated by Candice, our short film tells the story of sudden, unexpected and life-changing brain injury, as well as the hope and support that revolutionises lives post-injury.

Every 90 seconds someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury. Headway Nottingham is the only brain injury-specialised service available to support the Nottinghamshire community without a time limit, for as long as each person needs us. We support, empower and advocate to improve lives devastated by sudden disability.

We're indebted to Cinematographer, Rodric Francis, who's compassion and kindness made our film a reality and amplified the voices of our clients, whose stories deserve to be told.

Headway Nottingham

Headway Nottingham provides rehabilitation, empowering support and friendship opportunities for people living with complex disabilities following brain injury. We're a small charity making a big difference to the Nottingham brain injured community.
