Sumatran Orangutan Society
SOS Conservation Greenprint

Film & Campaign Description

Narrated by comedian, naturalist and friend of SOS Bill Bailey, this film brings to life what we do at Sumatran Orangutan Society and why it is so important for orangutans, for rainforests and for people.

In a real way, we all rely on orangutans and the forests they live in. It’s crucial we protect rainforests like those in Sumatra, in the fight against climate change.

Orangutans are keystone species, who keep the whole ecosystem healthy, and at SOS we’ve spent over 20 years working with frontline partners to give wild orangutans space to flourish.

Help us to protect, connect and rewild rainforest landscapes so that wild orangutans - and the people living alongside them - can thrive.

Sumatran Orangutan Society

At SOS, our vision is wild Sumatran and Tapanuli orangutans thriving in resilient forests. Our conservation strategy focuses on finding local solutions to global challenges. We collaborate with frontline partners and forest-edge communities in Indonesia to protect, reconnect and rewild vital areas of Sumatra's rainforest to secure a thriving future for wild orangutans, their rainforest homes and the people who rely on them.
