She Learned All Their Secrets: The Story of Anna Sewell and Black Beauty

Film & Campaign Description

Anna Sewell is Norfolk’s most successful novelist, and her incredible creation ‘Black Beauty’ has sold over 50 million copies worldwide and has never been out of print in 150 years, inspiring a wonderfully nostalgic television series not to mention countless other TV and film adaptations.

The story of Black Beauty is a beautiful tale of patience and courage in adversity and has so much to say about animal welfare issues, and in many ways, Anna Sewell’s own story mirrors that of her timeless creation. So often Anna gets overlooked, overshadowed by her own fictional creation, and yet her legacy for horse welfare echoes throughout the world to this day. Redwings has worked with the University of East Anglia., Dame Joanna Lumley and the creative team at Meantime Media to set that right and put Anna back in her rightful spot as one of the world's biggest selling novelists.
