Chiva
Safe House: How my HIV medication works

Film & Campaign Description

We wanted to create a set of animations to help young people who live with HIV better understand their medication and how it works to keep them safe and healthy. This first animation explains how HIV gets into CD4 cells to replicate, and in doing so weakens the immune system. But then HIV medication stops this process.

The idea for the animations came from workshops with young people who live with HIV, incorporating their experiences and ideas. We also worked with NAM aidsmap to develop the animations, and consulted a group of medical experts. The project was part of the development of a wider suite of resources about medication, funded by ViiV Healthcare.
