Our film, Protecting Children from Sexual Abuse and Violence Since 1999, describes the epidemic of child sexual abuse and exploitation, and how the World Childhood Foundation USA, founded by Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden, has worked nonstop to protect children from these traumas. The film offers insight into our solution-focused work to protect children through the amazing programs we fund for children who are disproportionately affected by child sexual abuse and exploitation, including children with disabilities, children who are homeless or in the foster care system, and children from the LBGTQ+ and other marginalized communities. World Childhood Foundation USA also funds research to pinpoint legislative gaps in our current system that need to be strengthened in both prevention and response to in person and online sexual abuse and exploitation.

Founded by Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden, World Childhood Foundation USA’s mission is to inspire, promote, and develop solutions to end sexual abuse, exploitation, and violence against children. Throughout the United States, Childhood USA works tirelessly to promote and develop solutions focused on both prevention and recovery. We support programs for children who are disproportionately affected by child sexual abuse and exploitation. We strengthen the safety nets supporting these children by identifying gaps and investing in projects that can bridge them, promoting long-term positive change for children.
We work in three thematic areas – Child Supportive Environments and Relationships, Child Safety Online, and Child Focused Response to Abuse. The themes are chosen based on the areas where children are particularly vulnerable, the needs for our work are greatest, and where we as an organization have the greatest experience and knowledge and thus can make the most difference.
