The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (CLOtC) is the national charity that champions all learning that happens beyond the classroom (LOtC). Our work supports educators, schools and organisations who are dedicated to ensuring more children and young people have opportunities for life-changing learning experiences beyond the classroom, whether these happen indoors or outdoors, close to home or far away.
Our Vision: Our vision is for every child to benefit from regular high quality learning beyond the classroom experiences as a
part of growing up. We do this by working to build the partnerships needed to ensure all children and young people have the opportunity for regular, progressive learning beyond the classroom.
Our Aim: Our current strategic aim focuses on ensuring schools, and other educational settings, have the support they need to take their teaching and learning beyond the classroom, and to embed it into their teaching practice. We do this by supporting educational professionals to deliver their curriculum safely and effectively beyond the classroom - in school grounds and beyond, indoors and out, near and far.
