Klitschko Foundation

Klitschko Foundation, founded by Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko 21 years ago in 2003. Today, the Foundation is dedicated to helping Ukrainian children and youth fight for their dreams. Initially, the Foundation was aimed to support Ukrainian youth who wanted to make sports a part of their lives. Over time, the Foundation expanded its focus to include education, leadership, and environmental initiatives. To date, 2.5 million young people took part in 160 projects implemented by the Foundation.

There were many plans for new sports projects and the construction of modern sports arenas for youth. However, at 4 a.m. on February 24, 2022, all Ukrainians — both adults and children — awoke to an entirely new reality. Everything changed dramatically. The Foundation also had to adapt in response to the urgent demands of the new reality. First of all, the Foundation has significantly expanded its scope. It has strengthened its efforts in educational initiatives and introduced mental health support, recognizing the urgent need for these services. 560 million tons of aid worth $16 million have been delivered since the start of the full-scale invasion.

Supporting children and teenagers who continue to grow up in Ukraine despite the war remains crucial. The strategic mission of the Foundation is to ensure that, despite the ongoing war, power blackouts, and economic downturn, the new generation of Ukrainians receives a quality education, and is empowered to build a strong and free country in the future. By prioritizing mental health and education, the Foundation helps foster resilience in a generation facing uncertainty, striving to ensure that children do not lose hope for a brighter future (“Flourish”, “Safe Learning”).
