People’s Choice Award 2026 Bronze Under £100,000
Any One of Us is a short, yet meaningful animation co-created with service users who access support from a Mental Health charity - Sunderland Headlight, and artist Scott Tyrell. The film was created after a series of storytelling workshops which gave the service users the opportunity to share their lived experiences of mental health difficulties, empowering their voices to be heard. The animation raises awareness of how mental health issues can affect ‘Any One of Us’ whilst showing the positive impact of the support that Sunderland Headlight provides.

The opportunity to create the animation was made possible due to Sunderland Headlight being involved in The Cultural Spring’s Space to Create programme. The programme provides registered Space to Create community venues such as ours, the opportunity to deliver activities for residents of the local community, who may not otherwise engage in accessing art and cultural opportunities; thanks to their funding and support.
A Space to Create | Sunderland Headlight — The Cultural Spring
Sunderland Headlight is a service user led Mental Health charity based in the city centre of Sunderland. The charity provides support to people aged 18+ experiencing mental health issues, by offering a range of different services and activities to enable individuals to step on the road to recovery and independence. The charity was formed in 2002, and since then has supported thousands of people over the years with their mental wellbeing.
