We Care Campaign
The Ones Who Care

We Care Campaign

We Care Campaign's mission is to amplify unpaid carers voices and make our issues heard. Too often carers feel isolated, unheard and invisible.

Unpaid carers are working in the background to keep people safe, out of hospital, propping up the NHS and social care systems. They are doing it for love, with little recognition and with minimal support. Now more than ever our contribution should be recognised.

There are currently 7 million unpaid carers in the UK. 91% of those surveyed (Carers Trust Feb 2022 Pushed to the Edge) felt ignored by government.

Working across the UK, this volunteer led community puts lived experience at the heart of everything we do. You can find out more about We Care Campaign here.

Our ground-breaking film "The Ones Who Care" was launched in Carers Week to show the harsh realities of caring today. Featuring and created with unpaid carers from our community across the UK. Those carers in the film are from Wigan and Leigh Carers Centre. It's filmed by Northern Heart Films and features a poem specifically created for us, by poet, Carla Mellor.

Getting this film recognised would help unpaid carers voices be heard more widely and influence politicians who need to create change.
