WRAP Recycle Now
Let's Get Real About Recycling

Film & Campaign Description

Recycle Week 2022 marks RY’s fifth for Recycle Now. The nation’s largest annual recycling campaign brings together consumer brands, retailers, local authorities, governments and the media to get people recycling more of the right things, more often.

2022's theme for Recycle Week was focused on tackling the biggest barriers to recycling head-on. ‘Let’s get real about recycling’ combats the growing anti-recycling narrative (fuelled by media headlines about it ‘all getting shipped abroad’), and continued confusion about what items can or can’t be recycled. The radically transparent campaign focuses on the questions we all have when it comes to recycling, like does it really make a difference? And what items can (or can’t) we recycle? At the heart of the campaign was an eye-opening film, which unpacks what really happens to our recycling, in a fast-paced behind-the-scenes journey through a recycling facility using drone footage.
