The Conservation Volunteers

We are The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) - connecting people together to protect and restore nature, delivering lasting benefits for both.

Since 1959, we’ve created opportunities for people to take practical action for the planet and their own wellbeing. Every year, over 100,000 people join us in parks, woodlands, community gardens and nature reserves, helping to create and care for green spaces that boost biodiversity and bring nature closer to home.

Our new strategy, Better Nature for All, sets out an ambitious plan to tackle the climate and ecological emergencies while improving health and wellbeing. We’ll protect and restore local environments, empower communities to take action, and develop green skills for the future - focusing on areas where nature and people need us most.

I Dig Trees from TCV, now in its 10th year, is a flagship example of this vision in action. Together with thousands of volunteers, we’ve planted millions of trees to create wildlife-friendly pocket forests across the UK. And this season, we’re going further - with new tools to measure impact and partnerships that strengthen the science behind community action.
