Our vision is a world where no young person loses their life to suicide. We are a national suicide prevention charity formed by friends and family in the wake of the devastating loss of Olly Hare from Worthing after he died by suicide when he was just 22 years old. Our motto is 'love and light' which is at the heart of all we do to save further young lives from this tragedy.
Since 2020 we have delivered suicide prevention training to nearly 6,000 participants, many of whom are tomorrow's doctors, nurses and paramedics. We continue to lobby government to fund suicide prevention training as part of the core curriculum for medical students.
Our work has been recognised through the 'Points of Light' Award given by the PM Office to Olly's mother Ann Feloy, who is Founder and CEO, as well as a Churchill Fellowship to trustee Rory Keddie for researching suicide prevention training for medical students in India, America and Canada. Among our partners are the British Medical Association, NHS Trusts and local authorities.
Every September we hold the 'Time Together' service for up to 550 participants at St Martin-in-the-Fields church, Trafalgar Square, London, for World Suicide Prevention Day.
Our aims are as follows:
1. To develop and deliver suicide prevention training and initiatives, particularly focussing on young people.
2. To train healthcare students and professionals in suicide prevention and self-care.
3. To promote wellbeing, especially through the arts.
4. To work with other charities and organisations who share our goals and values.
