Waythrough
You Can Save A Life

Film & Campaign Description

Naloxone is a life-saving medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose in an emergency. New Vision Bradford provides free take-home naloxone kits to anyone in the Bradford District who needs one, enabling anyone who carries one to be a life saver. This film spear-headed the campaign across the district. The purpose resonated so strongly in the area that the police and ambulance services you see in the film are not actors, they are real policemen and real paramedics who generously donated their time to the cause as they are aware of just how important it is.

What is Naloxone?

Naloxone is an antidote to opioid overdoses, including those caused by heroin, methadone, codeine, and tramadol. It works by temporarily reversing the dangerous effects of an overdose, giving time for emergency medical help to arrive.

Who Can Use Naloxone?

Anyone can use naloxone—you don’t need to be a doctor or healthcare professional. Our staff will provide a free naloxone kit and quick training (just 10 minutes!) so you know how to use it in an emergency.

Should You Have a Kit?

We recommend carrying naloxone if:

- You use opioids.

- Someone you care about does.

- You spend time around people who use opioids.

- You just want to be a life saver

Having naloxone on hand could mean the difference between life and death.

Waythrough

New Vision Bradford is led by the national charity Waythrough, with local partners Project 6, The Bridge Project, and Create Strength Group. The service aims to improve outcomes for people living across Bradford and Keighely with issues around alcohol and drugs.

Waythrough are specialists in mental health, alcohol, drugs and related areas.

Our high quality, evidence-based services are designed around the needs of the people we serve.

We know that people and their problems don’t fit into neatly labelled boxes. And that finding help can be hard when life gets messy.

Too many people hit dead ends when they need open doors and answers.

That’s where Waythrough comes in.
