Children with Cancer UK
When I Grow Up - Eve's Story

Film & Campaign Description

Each September, Children with Cancer UK joins charities around the world in supporting Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, an internationally recognised awareness month, highlighted and promoted by many childhood cancer charities.

Children with Cancer UK's 2022 theme was ‘When I grow up’. Dreaming of who we want to be when we grow up is a magical part of every childhood. But for many children and young people who survive a childhood cancer diagnosis, life doesn’t always return to normal when treatment ends. Children with Cancer UK is working towards a world in which every child gets to grow up and fulfil their dreams.

As part of the campaign, we asked aspiring dancer Eve, 13, to join us for a day to explore her aspirations for when she grows up. Eve, who received a cancer diagnosis at a young age, met with professionals who specialise in what she loves, including charity ambassador Dame Arlene Phillips, and visited the legendary Sadler's Wells theatre.

Children with Cancer UK

Children with Cancer UK is a leading children’s cancer charity dedicated to raising and investing funds into vital specialist research to save the lives of children and young people with cancer. Our mission is to improve survival rates and the quality of survival in young patients, and to find ways to prevent cancer in the future. Whilst working towards this, Children with Cancer UK funds support for children and their families as they navigate treatment. What began as a small memorial charity in 1988, has evolved into a major force raising more than £300 million and investing in over 200 pioneering research projects.
