Voices of Hope and Peace tells the stories of the Ukrainian people escaping the war during the first days of the conflict, their incredible journey through Europe and how they have built a new life for themselves and their children in the UK. The 26 minute video opera, first broadcast on the 3rd anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine and featuring an ensemble of musicians from the RLPO, uses the melodies from the speech to amplify the message and deep emotion in the testimonies. Sections such as 'Under The Rockets', 'We Must Not Be Silent' and 'Be Happy Again' tell an incredible human story of resilience and hope that reminds us of the everyday effects and injustices of war.
