The Collaboration Fund is a key part of the six-year Home-School-Community (HSC) Programme, designed to bring together organisations that work across the three most significant areas of a child’s life: home, school, and community. Each collaboration includes one school and two to three voluntary organisations that have previously received funding from the Charity. The HSC Strategy aims to establish 12 local collaborations over six years, and we are pleased to share that, at the halfway mark, six have been successfully established - one of which is based in Harrow.
In this Harrow-based collaboration, John Lyon’s Charity, with the Young Harrow Foundation, brought together three local charities - Ignite Youth Harrow, The WISH Centre, and Harrow Association of Somali Voluntary Organisations - to collaborate with Whitmore High School.
Created for our 2024 Annual Report, this film highlights this collaborative effort, showcasing how these organisations are working together to provide vital support to children and young people in the local community.
John Lyon’s Charity gives grants to benefit children and young people up to the age of 25 (or up to 30 for young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities) who live in nine boroughs in North and West London: Barnet, Brent, Camden, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Kensington & Chelsea, and the Cities of London and Westminster.
Since 1991, we have been committed to transforming the lives of children and young people by creating opportunities to learn, grow, and develop through education. John Lyon’s Charity has distributed over £208 million in grants to a range of organisations that seek to promote the life chances of children and young people through education, with around £15 million in grants distributed each year.
