People Focused Group Doncaster is a peer-led organisation that is doing vital work to unlock community power to build social connection, belonging, to protect people from hardship.
Their Community Warden scheme has given members of the community a sense of purpose and turned lives around through the power of ‘people helping people’. Local services and community organisations play a vital role in addressing the high levels of hardship in our communities through meeting immediate material needs, providing mutual support and building trust, connection and belonging.
Whilst the Government needs to act to address the root causes of hardship, it must also act to unlock the potential of communities to protect people from hardship.
