Too often, a dementia diagnosis comes with fear, isolation and stigma. At www.adss.org.uk, we believe that everyone living with dementia deserves hope, purpose and dignity, creating support and connections that make a real lived difference.
For people in underserved communities, these challenges are intensified by barriers such as limited access to support, lack of understanding, and services that don’t always feel welcoming or inclusive.
We are here to change that.
We are committed to working alongside people living with dementia, their loved ones and carers to ensure they are seen, heard and valued. Our approach is rooted in compassion, community and connection — helping individuals maintain their identity, build meaningful relationships and continue living life with purpose.
We pioneered a project alongside the Sikh community to introduce a memory café at the Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara in Gravesend. This project is one example of how we are reaching into underserved communities to break down the barriers that prevent people from getting the help they need. It reflects our commitment to meeting people where they are, challenging stigma, and creating safe, supportive spaces where connections and understanding can grow.
