Our Kids First

Film & Campaign Description

This powerful video was the heart of our matched charity campaign, designed to open eyes and hearts to the reality of divorce through a child's perspective. It places the audience in their shoes, bringing their struggles as part of a separated family into sharp focus. Most importantly, it shows that there is hope for change. With the support of OKF, families don't have to face these challenges alone—we're here to make a difference.

Our Kids First

Our Mission is to guide families through the challenges of divorce with a holistic, child-centered approach. We support both parents to prioritise their children’s well-being, rebuild lives, and create a brighter future. From emotional guidance to practical support, we’re here to help families every step of the way to achieve the best outcomes for their children. We want to give all children the chance to thrive, no matter their difficult starting point.

‘I was drowning in a sea of stress. Divorce ruined me, emotionally, practically, financially, in every way. My biggest fear was - will my beautiful children be ok?’

Our services include:

  • Welfare & emergency relief
  • Emotional support
  • Education and advocacy
  • Coaching & mediation

Caseworkers play a crucial role in our work, helping families like Adam’s:

After Adam’s parents divorced, his dad struggled to take adequate care of him. Things got worse and emergency services were called. Our Kids First’s caseworker arranged food bank help, parenting coaching and therapy referrals. Adam’s dad is now managing better and Adam even has contact with his mum. He says, ‘I feel safe knowing Our Kids First are always there.’

2024 in numbers;

207 families supported through their divorce journeys

6000+ hours of mediation and coaching

30 events hosted for parents and children

2000+ hot meals provided via our foodbank

91% of those we helped over the past year felt the service improved their mental health.
