The Robert Dangoor Partnership for Living Kidney Donation is a charity partnership between Kidney Research UK and Give a Kidney, which aims to raise awareness of living kidney donation through the Make Your Mark campaign and help more people understand what it means to be a living donor, as well as supporting and guiding anyone interested in donating through their journey.
In the UK, nearly 7,000 people are on the waiting list for a kidney transplant at the time of writing. Despite ongoing work to encourage donation, around six people die every week in need of a kidney. We want to shorten the waiting list, save lives and improve the wellbeing of countless people.

Our Film
In January 2025, people at Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent were amazed to see a man who donated one of his kidneys inside a shop window alongside six mannequins, representing the six people who die each week waiting for a kidney. Each of the figures were seen lifting up their t-shirts to reveal the question “is it in you to save a life?”.
The video includes the powerful words from four living kidney donors – Bob, George, John, and Hanny – discussing their experiences of donating and how it has affected their lives.
The powerful installation was organised as part of the nationwide Make Your Mark campaign, to highlight the need for more living kidney donors in the UK. Viewers of the video are encouraged to complete our quick online quiz to discover if it could be inside them to donate a kidney and save a life.
