Follow ophthalmologist Dr Gladys Atto as she walks us through the inclusive health project in Karamoja, Uganda. Dr Gladys explains the extensive improvements in inclusive eye health services in Karamoja which are helping to transform the lives of the 1.4 million people who live in the region. The most recent work in the region was funded by the UK government through UK Aid Match.
We start with sight but we don't stop there. In the past 70 years, Sightsavers has achieved incredible things. We work in more than 30 countries to train health workers, provide eye operations, promote inclusive education, improve women's health and more. Our vision is of a world where no one is blind from avoidable causes, and where people with disabilities can participate equally in society.
