I Wish You Knew is about amplifying the voices of young people with lived experience of battling mental health challenges within an educational system that is massively under funded and over stretched. It's about shifting the paradigm from waiting until things are acute, to intervening early and collaboratively with young people themselves.
It emphasises the value of youth-voices in designing mental health support, making it more relatable, inclusive and effective.
This film was the cornerstone of Beyond's first ever match funded campaign. The funds raised directly supported vulnerable students in by facilitating access to personalised mental health interventions. The campaign raised £80k which for a small (but mighty!) charity, is a huge amount.
Beyond tackles the growing mental health crisis affecting young people in the UK. We address the lack of access to mental health support and provide opportunities for early and personalised interventions, in collaboration with youth voices.
Our Why:
1 in 5 young people have a diagnosable mental health condition.
Schools lack time, confidence, and resources to respond effectively.
Mental health support is underfunded and often reactive.
Vulnerable groups (e.g. neurodiverse, LGBTQ+, care-experienced youth) face disproportionate barriers to care.
