MedicAlert UK
Give the gift of confidence

Film & Campaign Description

'Give the gift of confidence' was inspired by our members, each with their own unique story. MedicAlert supports people with all different medical conditions or allergies, and hearing these stories is a way for people to realise that living with a medical condition does not need to hold them back.

MedicAlert member, Clare Martin, lives with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and has Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTs), which causes her heart rate to rise rapidly and often leads to her passing out and fainting. Her MedicAlert ID has given her the confidence to go outside knowing that people will be able to understand her condition and reason for fainting. As someone that enjoys aqua fit, having that layer of protection allows her to live a more normal life, with confidence, “The staff find the bracelet really useful because they can read what’s wrong with me straight away.”

With severe allergies and Anaphylaxis, Julianne Ponan MBE has to balance her conditions as a busy business woman and the founder of Creative Nature. Her MedicAlert ID has saved her life when she made contact with nuts with nuts that sent her into an anaphylaxis shock. Her ID allowed responders to understand what was happening and use her EpiPen. As a MedicAlert ambassador Julianne is a great advocate for the charity, "If you have an allergy of any kind, wearing a MedicAlert ID is a 'no brainer’ and could save your life.”

As a member of MedicAlert's Early Start Programme, Imogen is one of thousands that benefits from MedicAlert's charitable programmes. Living with Coeliac Disease can prove challenging to not only Imogen but also her mother Kerry. When Kerry is not there, or Imogen is at school, her MedicAlert ID speaks for her and makes others aware of her condition. "Her MedicAlert bracelet gives us confidence that others will know she has an autoimmune disease and works as a great talking opportunity to raise awareness of what she can and cannot have."

With no government funding, MedicAlert sometimes have to place people on a waiting list for our charitable programmes until funding is acquired. Our 2025 appeal video is asking people to help fund these programmes to help everyone receive the support they need. Each donation help MedicAlert and it's charitable programmes into the future.

To create our 2025 appeal video, we decided to partner with another charity, Pictures For The People, who helped create our vision and allow our three members to tell their story in the most authentic way.

Our inspiring members and their stories aim to spread awareness and help others realise that their condition does not hold them back and that they can have peace of mind, everywhere they go!

MedicAlert UK

MedicAlert are the first and only medical ID charity in the UK and have been trusted for over 60 years. Medical IDs allow first responders to have all the information they require instantly in the event of an emergency, with a 24/7 emergency helpline linking to someone's full medical record. We believe that everyone deserves to live with confidence and our vision is a world where no medical condition or allergy limits a person's confidence, dignity, independence or safety.

We believe that everyone deserves this security and peace of mind which is why we provide protection programmes to people who might otherwise have to go without, such as those who face financial hardship or who are overwhelmed by the cost of managing their health conditions or allergy.

One of our charitable programmes is our 'Early Start Programme', providing children with free membership and a MedicAlert ID up to their 10th birthday. The peace of mind that parents get from this is invaluable. MedicAlert also have a 'Goodwill Programme' which provides discounts and sometimes complementary membership and IDs to those who need it most.

MedicAlert also provide the Herbert Protocol, a dementia safeguarding programme designed to help find people living with dementia when they go missing. The Herbert Protocol is completely funded by MedicAlert and contains information about a person's daily routines, past places of interest and emergency contacts, allowing police to have all the information they require instantly.

With trust in every ID, we can give everyone confidence in every moment!
