With nearly 1 in 3 people not attending their cervical screening (smear test) appointments, the Healthwatch Essex Trauma Ambassador Group recognised a need for sharing the unique challenges that trauma survivors may experience.
Working with the group, Healthwatch Essex co-produced a short film in a clinical environment to demonstrate the trigger-points for trauma survivors and educate professionals on how appointments can be improved to make patients more comfortable.
We are an independent charity set up under the Health & Social Care Act 2012 and we use your voice to improve health and care in Essex. We undertake high-quality research and engagement to uncover your experience of services and use it to shape health and care. We run several lived experience ambassador programmes, including the Trauma Ambassador Group.
