British Hen Welfare Trust

The British Hen Welfare Trust has saved over ONE MILLION commercial laying hens from slaughter, and our the millionth hen lives with King Charles at Highgrove. All went on to become pets, loved by families across the UK, instead of the alternative, and our continuing mission is to spread the word that these little creatures are joyful, life enriching and usually continue to lay delicious eggs everywhere they nest.

As well as our rehoming work, we help to educate vets around the globe, raise awareness of the positive impact of using hens as therapy and educate the next generation of hen keepers, all whilst supporting the British egg industry. Our ethos is positive to the core, and our influence is shaping how all commercial laying hens are kept in the UK and beyond as we develop the next steps in helping hens wherever they may be.
