In this deeply moving video, Beverley, Sandra, and Marina open their hearts and share the stories of their beloved husbands—Alan, Iain, and Alasdair — who were taken too soon by motor neuron disease (MND). Through their memories, they paint a picture of the men they loved and also speak candidly about the grief they faced after their loss.
With the support of MND Scotland's Bereavement Support Workshop, Beverley, Sandra, and Marina found a safe space to explore their emotions, connect with others who understood their pain, and begin the journey toward healing. We can also provide 1-1 support with your grief for the whole family.
If you or someone you know is impacted by MND and needs support, please reach out, you can email us at [email protected] or visit www.mndscotland.org.uk/bereavement-support/ for more information.
Our vision is a world without motor neuron disease (MND). Until that day comes, we are here to make time count for everyone affected by MND in Scotland.
Since our charity was founded over forty years ago, we have been at the front line against MND in Scotland. We fund ground-breaking MND research and world-class clinical trials. We campaign to fix a broken system and to secure lasting change.
But much of our day-to-day work is in making time count for people with MND and the loved ones supporting them.
Whether that’s helping families make memories through accessible holidays, grants to improve quality of life, or an Advocate to fight their corner and secure essential home adaptations faster, we are here to help. When time matters most, we’re a helping hand of support, so people with MND can make precious time count with the ones they love.
