Give Your Best
The Good Fashion Show

Film & Campaign Description

Give Your Best exists to empower refugees through choice and dignified access to clothing, to alleviate clothing poverty while improving circularity in the fashion industry and reducing clothing waste.

The Good Fashion Show by Give Your Best and friends is a celebration of refugee women, sustainable brands and the power of fashion for good. In our first ever GYB fashion show, we wanted to empower the amazing refugee women in our community to be their best most beautiful selves, and be centre stage in a positive way, something very seldom afforded to refugees. While the models walked, each dressed in sustainable clothes gifted by a total of 15 fashion brand partners, the audience heard a voiceover recording of the model talking about her journey, to raise awareness of the person in front of them. To continue on the theme of ‘journey’, models left their footprints in paint on the 16m canvas catwalk, to complete a piece of art in collaboration with renowned painter Kiril Jeliazkov.

It was a sold-out night we will never forget. The feedback from the audience was one of hope and empowerment, the feedback from the models and GYB team was one of immense pride and unforgettable experiences.

We can’t wait to do it again next year! If anyone watching/reading wants to collaborate next time, please email us on [email protected]. Our entire team volunteered to organise this event.

Give Your Best

Give Your Best is an award winning tech-for-good nonprofit offering the first circular platform of its kind where people and brands can donate clothes online so that refugee women and children can shop for free, with the choice and dignity they deserve. Since launching 3 years ago we have supported more than 3500 women and children shop over 30,000 items of donated clothes for free. We're on a mission to alleviate clothing poverty in an empowering way while improving circularity in the fashion industry and preventing clothes from ending in landfill

The Good Fashion show is our annual celebration of the refugee community and the power of fashion for good, an empowering event where the women and children form our community become models for the day. This year we made it happen in partnership with Cambridge Grand Arcade, converting the first floor of the shopping centre into a catwalk. We partnered with over 20  brands to make this event happen and dress all the models, including the little ones, all of whom got to keep the clothes.

In this event we hope to change perceptions of both refugees and fashion, and demonstrate how when you empower people, they shine.
