It's in the Bag Cancer Support
SAS Who Checks Wins - A guide on how to check your balls

Film & Campaign Description

This is project Who Checks Wins created by It's in the Bag Cancer Support a guide on how to check your balls.

The video is to train you in this delicate but lifesaving skill. It is one of the hardest and most difficult tasks known to man. It requires dexterity, strength of character, concentration and memory.

This is It's in the Bag's brand new campaign  and the first since 2016, with it's award winning Are Your Balls Match Fit. Our aims are Support Awareness Survival (SAS) so we thought instead of Who Dares Wins, what about Who Checks Wins! An on trend quirky campaign with a serious message which could ultimately save lives.

Funded by The National Lottery and supported by Jonathan Dixon (illustrator) and Clear As Day Productions (Film Makers and Script by Founder of It's in the Bag Sue Brand.

Are you up to the task!

The one stat you should take on board, and never lose sight of, is this: More than 98% of men who get testicular cancer will be cured.

  1. Get to know your balls (boys)
  2. How your balls look and feel normally?
  3. Once a month, after a bath or shower take a few minutes to check for any changes:
  4. Rest your balls in the palm of your hand, and gently roll each one between finger and thumb

If you find something strange, don't stew over whether it's serious or not. Go straight to your GP! This will give you the best chance of early diagnosis in the rare event of testicular cancer.

  1. Early diagnosis means:
  2. Better chance of successful treatment
  3. Quicker and more straightforward treatment

Remember: Ball problems are usually caused by something much less serious than cancer, but you should never try to figure out what's wrong without your doctor's advice.

It's in the Bag Cancer Support

We provide hands-on support for men with testicular cancer in the South-West, as well as raising awareness of the disease across the region and beyond.

It’s in the Bag is run by a group of testicular cancer survivors with support from specialist NHS staff. We have three simple aims:

  1. Support
Being diagnosed with testicular cancer and going through treatment is a huge challenge – physically, mentally and emotionally. We provide a range of activities and initiatives to help men through this tough time. We are one of the only Testicular Cancer Charities who give men and their families grants during difficult times.
  2. Awareness
We teach men the importance of checking their balls regularly and taking any issues straight to their GP. Spreading this knowledge promotes earlier diagnosis, which often means simpler, more effective treatment and better chances of a cure.
  3. Survival
With UK cure rates for testicular cancer running above 98%, we focus on survival – helping guys tackle the emotional and practical impact of cancer, both during treatment and beyond.
