This film captures the journey of our educational charity (which always delivered face-face) transforming to a virtual environment, never stopping a single activity and always ensuring we gave young people opportunities to excite them about their future. The virtual world enabled us to open the eyes of so many more young people, regardless of their location, and we are continuing with many of these aspects moving forward as they have enabled a more diverse audience to enjoy the possibilities.
EDT (Engineering Development Trust), offer young people active learning experiences in STEM related careers, giving them the opportunity to gain knowledge and exposure that will help them make decisions about their future.
Our aim is to increase interest in STEM careers (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) through a variety of engaging and dynamic programmes for ages 9-21 that replicate experiences found in the workplace. Some examples include industry mentored projects, school activity days, specialised taster courses and industrial placements. All these programs work to develop students’ teamwork, problem solving, communication, digital skills, numeracy and project management - increasing the confidence and employability of young people.
