Charity Finance Group
Charity Finance Group - appeal video 2022

Film & Campaign Description

At Charity Finance Group (CFG) our beneficiaries are social change organisations - charities, voluntary organisations, community groups, social enterprises - and they come from every part of the charity sector. We could be helping a hospice, an animal sanctuary, a museum, a grassroots sports organisation, a charitable foundation, people working in environmental conservation, early years' education, faith or community choirs - the list is endless and incredibly varied.

Our funding comes from our charity memberships, the generous support of our corporate partners, charity finance professionals attending our training events and conferences, and a handful of grants. Unlike many organisations, we don't have anyone wanting to run the London Marathon or hold a coffee morning to support us - and we're OK with that.

But we do like to have the chance to remind people what we do, and this video was produced in-house by our small but very talented team, on zero budget, to show at our annual fundraising dinner.

We hope you like it. Thanks for watching.

Charity Finance Group

At CFG, our vision is to inspire a financially confident, dynamic and trustworthy sector. Everything we do is led by our goal to enable charities to deliver more impact to their causes.

It’s our mission to put finance at the heart of social organisations, so they make their money work harder and achieve the maximum positive outcome for beneficiaries.

Our members include over 1,400 charities, social change and public benefit organisations, all working hard to improve the lives and outcomes for their beneficiaries – often on a tight budget.

Through improving their financial management, governance and leadership, we can help these organisations deliver their charitable objectives from all the resources available to them.

We work closely with finance professionals and those in governance roles, but we believe better financial management also benefits a much broader audience. This is reflected through our wide-ranging work with non-finance professionals, members of the public, government, corporates, foundations, regulators and many more.

We strive to develop finance skills in all leaders – whatever their discipline – and help to build leadership qualities across the whole sector, truly putting finance at the heart of informed decision making.

Our advocacy work takes us to the heart of government where we help shape policies that will support social change organisations. We played a key role in securing the £750m third sector support funds during the covid pandemic, and we also helped ensure that charities, community groups and voluntary organisations have been included in the Energy Bill Relief Scheme running from October 2022 to March 2023.
