East Kent Mencap is a charity that supports people with a learning disability in the East Kent area to live as independently as possible and to achieve the things they want out of life.
Our purpose is to build peoples’ confidence, self-esteem, and skills, as well as create opportunities and choices for people with a learning disability both now and in the future.
We want people with a learning disability to be seen, heard, and valued by their communities. We are very proud of our Members Committee, which is made up of East Kent Mencap service users. The committee members represent all of the different services and geographical locations that we cover.
We work to raise awareness of the lives of people with a learning disability, and we campaign for equal rights and opportunities.
